Networked Approach at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

In the healthcare system, the times of business as usual are passed. All over the world, every medical system is suffering from growing prices and unequal quality despite the challenging work of well-intentioned, well-trained professionals. Health care professionals have explored numerous incremental changes and policymakers—fighting fraud, decreasing mistakes, enforcing practice guidelines, making patients better “consumers,” introducing electronic medical records—but none have had much of an impact. Hospitals must employ the most acceptable network tactics to survive and remain profitable in these difficult economic times. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provided one of the most excellent examples of using a network approach. CHOP created a new network that grew to be the largest in the United States regarding admissions and outpatient visits. According to Porter, “by 2016 the CHOP Care Network stretched across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the New York metropolitan area, providing a range of services from routine primary care to complex specialty care” (Porter et al., 2016, p. 1). CHOP was able to create value for its patients and earn a respectable profit margin due to the installation of this network.

The hospital is developing a streaming computing platform that will examine hundreds of vital signs in real-time and uses established predictive models to aid clinical decision-making. Difficulties that may arise will be in the collection of information and the development of the system itself. However, the system will then provide near real-time information for inpatient care using a preprocessed patient analysis database. This platform helps to correctly diagnose the patient, speeding up the analysis process, which is very useful and necessary in my organization. Hiring people who can build the system will be an essential step. Other hospitals should consider taking a similar approach, as this revolutionary innovation optimizes and improves the accuracy of medical personnel.

A second understanding is that an extensive regional network provides a wide range of treatments and services. As a result, CHOP has many additional general care rooms and several specialized clinics that offer surgery and same-day surgery. With additional departments, CHOP is expanding its patient service region, allowing everyone who needs it to seek medical attention. Because CHOP is unique in providing extensive surgeries and services, not all locations have received similar offers from hospitals. Following the lead of CHOP, my organization should also open regional offices to help patients. The only problem that will arise is keeping track of the central hospital system in regional departments. Hiring people in such regions to open hospital offices there will be an essential step. Large hospitals should be concentrated in nearby regions, where, unfortunately, complex procedures are not available since residents may find it inconvenient to go to hospitals or health conditions do not allow it to be done on time. The hospital creates additional jobs and points of contact for patients by increasing the number of departments.

The third tactic involves a unique approach to childbirth – CHOP uses sophisticated techniques to operate on the fetus and keep the babies alive. The private security company develops the fundamental branch of medicine – the birth of children. I believe that if children are born in a hospital, then they must constantly develop; this is how I represent my organization. The development in this industry is significant, as it will always be relevant. If there are diseases that scientists and medical professionals deal with and eradicate, then the problems of having children will always be relevant. The problem that may arise is the desire of Rabonix to stick with the old methods, as they are proven, but this does not mean that they are the most effective, but only instill confidence in the doctors. A significant action will be the provision of training courses to employees, specifically in the field of childbirth. Hospitals around the world need to increase fertility.

To summarize, CHOP is presently serving as an example for other hospitals. The hospital provides practical strategies for treating patients’ issues by assessing today’s medicine and technology potential. To deliver novel therapies or avoid patient concerns, every healthcare company must stay up with technological advancements. The tactics used are the most fundamental and fundamental of the created approaches for improving medicine, demonstrating that, though humankind has achieved significant progress in this field, there is still much to be desired.
