The Boeing Firm’s Strategic Implementation Plan

Introduction

Boeing is a multinational company whose main headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois. The corporation is a leading global aerospace company that develops, manufactures, and services commercial airplanes, defense products, and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries. The Boeing Corporation enjoys a vast range of benefits due to its massive size as a production company (Boeing, 2022). Understanding company goals and objectives in implementing development programs within the company is essential. Boeing’s vision statement demonstrates its commitment to becoming a market leader in research and development, focused on attaining sustainability in all organizational processes and establishing a diverse workplace capable of accomplishing its fundamental values. This research analyzes specific leadership qualities essential for implementing a cost leadership program for the company. Therefore, it evaluates different leadership skills necessary for the company’s growth and articulates the SWOT analysis, creating a diversified understanding of the company.

Leadership Skills

Leadership is necessary for implementing the plan since it provides a direction for workers and motivates them to complete their obligations within the required timeline. As the new manager, the most critical aspect of the leadership skill is motivating and inspiring employees to work tirelessly towards the organizational goals. As per Boeing’s tradition, as the new manager, I will encourage the employees to participate in the decision-making processes and actively involve them in investments within the company. Allowing employees to own shares in the company ensures they remain on track, improving the success rate. Another critical leadership skill for a manager is proper communication skills that guarantee success since every participant knows their roles and responsibilities. Integrated communication systems improve the interaction between different departments by availing information within the correct timing, thus creating a fast response when needed. In addition, team building is another extra leadership skill that enhances employee interaction, equipping them with appropriate skills to manage the work. Effective leadership ensures that all participants identify their obligations and ultimately work to achieve the projected goals.

Boeing’s Operational Strategy

Boeing utilizes product differentiation to gain a competitive advantage over its rival, Airbus. Product differentiation involves the creation of unique products from the normal ones that customers are used to using. Boeing differentiates its products by creating more seats than normal ones. Additionally, it has improved the engine capacity to distinguish itself from Airbus products. Boeing has established its position in the market over Airbus by generating distinctive features that attract more customers and create a competitive advantage (Woo et al., 2021). The most recent innovations the company has incorporated into its operations include the production of advanced winglets, a performance-based navigation system, and the digital airline. These developments have boosted the company’s presence in the market and deployed effective strategies that enhance its competing power. Boeing prioritizes consumer satisfaction and hence provides an efficient customer care service unit that works around the clock to respond to their grievances and ensure that they deal with the complaints as they arise.

SWOT Analysis

The SWOT analysis is a critical tool for developing an effective implementation plan for the Boeing corporation. The company frequently evaluates its SWOT analysis to identify reliable strategies for its development and growth. One of its major strengths is its approach of playing off the need for long-range capabilities and direct linkages. Boeing utilizes these factors to serve its vast market size. Moreover, the brand has been in the market for a long time, affirming that it has a firm brand name and image. The corporation faces challenges in the utilization of the hub system, therefore, limiting its effectiveness. Due to the growing Asian population, Boeing’s most significant opportunity lies in its expansion into the Asian market. Intercepting the new target market aids in developing the company brands and ensures more income since it makes more sales (Petrescu, 2019). However, it faces threats of being overtaken by rival brands like Airbus that prohibit its efficient operations. SWOT analysis focuses on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that a company enjoys. Boeing’s successful interception of the market comprises specific muscles that give it a competitive advantage over rival companies such as Airbus.

Organizational Design

The organizational design incorporates the structure and culture within the business. It affects the corporation’s operations and performance since it defines how the workforce responds to occurring events. Organizational design affects project implementation plans in many ways. First, it determines the employees performing specific functions and influences how they implement the duties. The corporate design examines the business actions and aids in decision-making. The new manager must evaluate Boeing’s structure to make impactful decisions on assigning articulating responsibilities to workers. The organizational culture depicts approaches that the company uses to make critical decisions (Boeing, 2022). Hence, it influences the communication channels and exploits the business’s opportunities to utilize them to access maximum efficiency. Therefore, as the new manager of the Boeing corporation, I will critically evaluate the organizational design to determine the most effective plans and implement them.

Implementation Plan

The implementation plan will take approximately five years to achieve the objectives and goals. The significant milestones in the implementation plan include the initiation and beginning date for operations to commence. Another milestone is the approval by the stakeholders, including the shareholders, the government, and the employees (Boeing, 2022). First, the shareholders must be willing to support the project financially and in decision-making processes. Shareholders approve the implementation plan based on the profitability or the capital consumption and other benefits that the project avails. The government decides on the legality of the implementation plan hence determining whether the company should progress with the business. Conversely, the employees manage and run the program as the management directs. Therefore, it is critical to interact with different stakeholders to obtain the project execution details. The stakeholders facilitate the practical running of the implementation plan and equip the business with the facilities to propagate the programs.

Conclusion

The implementation plan is an essential part of businesses since it aids in determining the approaches that companies utilize in their operations. It provides detailed information on the activities that the business conducts. The implementation plan guarantees the company’s success and improves the interactions among the stakeholders hence increasing efficiency. The implementation plan is essential since it enhances the brand image and provides a better competitive advantage.
